Letty Hawkes

Widowed at 40 with three young children — and certain of what life insurance actually does.

Letty began her financial services career in 1984, while working as a desk trader in the Trust Investments area of a downtown Chicago bank. In 1992, she accepted an opportunity to work at Morgan Stanley as a registered sales representative. Letty and her husband, John, had three children born in 1993, 1996 and 1999. In March of 2000, John passed away after a short battle with lymphoma.

“I knew the importance of life insurance. I never expected to be widowed at 40 with 3 young children. It was then that I understood that my mission included educating as many families as I can about protecting their loved ones against the unforeseeable. I was lucky. My husband had enough life insurance for us to stay in our current home and rebuild our lives.”

Letty specializes in guiding her clients through a comprehensive balancing of the insurance and investment aspects to yield a future of financial stability. “I know firsthand the impact of losing one's spouse at an early age. I want to provide my clients with assurances that their mortgage, or college debts, or survivorship issues can be addressed with the proper structuring of assets.”

Letty remarried in 2014 to her present husband, Rick. Together, they have 5 children and live in Glenview, Illinois.
